7 Days Amboseli – Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara Budget

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Pick up from your hotel or airport and drive to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Hot buffet Lunch at Narok Town. You will arrive Masai Mara in the afternoon and have coffee and head for game drives through the reserve, driving through seemingly endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills, where lions, elephants, buffalos, zebras and numerous plain animals are in abundance. Return for dinner at the camp and relax in comfort.

Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara

After breakfast, get your picnic lunch boxes and head out for the morning game viewing. It's a long drive to the Mara River where you will be able to view hippos and crocodiles. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game drive viewing. All meals and overnight at the Camp.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru

You will have a morning game drive in Masai Mara, then return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast, check out from the camp and drive to Lake Nakuru where you will stay at a budget hotel. Have lunch en-route and arrive at the hotel in the evening to check-in in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha/ Hellsgate National Park

Have an early breakfast, then proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park. Drive south along this scenic valley to Lake Naivasha. This is one of the Rift Valley's freshwater lakes and has a different ecology from that of the soda lakes. It is also home to a large variety of bird species. All meals and overnight at the Taphe Guest House.

Optional activities at Lake Naivasha include boat rides to view hippos and a wealth of birdlife, which can be paid for directly to the boat company.

Day 5: Hellsgate National Park/ Lake Naivasha to Amboseli

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Hell’s Gate for a game drive. Here is the only place one can walk inside the park as there are no predators. You will decide if you'll do the game drive with the safari vehicle or if you'll rent a bicycle to cycle the 11 km down to the gorge. At the gorge, you will get a guide so that he can guide you and share information about the rock layers. Late drive/cycle back to the gate, leave Naivasha with lunch en route and drive to Amboseli National Park. You will arrive late in the evening.

Day 6: Full day in Amboseli

After breakfast, get your picnic lunch boxes and proceed for a whole day of Amboseli. Morning and afternoon game drives where Mount Kilimanjaro is in the background offer good photographic scenery, with herds of elephants and other animals in the background as well. All meals and overnight at the Camp.

Day 7: Amboseli to Nairobi

Pre-breakfast game viewing. After breakfast, game viewing en route back to Nairobi where you arrive at around 15:00hrs. Lunch en route. On arrival in Nairobi, you are dropped at your town hotel or the airport.
